Sarah Nelson, PhD founded Green Pen Solutions in 2019.
As an experienced medical writer and certified coach, Sarah is uniquely placed to understand the challenges facing agencies today.
After a long career as a medical writer and team leader, Sarah took the leap as an independent business owner. She wanted to do something different to add value to the med comms industry.
Green Pen Solutions was created to address an urgent unmet need affecting agencies of all sizes.
Sarah is now well-known internationally in the medical writing and med comms communities. She has been invited to speak at AMWA and EMWA conferences, at MedCommsNetworking events, and on podcasts with international audiences. Hello from Sarah
Hi, I’m Sarah! Everyone who works with Green Pen Solutions works with me. I am an experienced medical writer in medical communications, and I love helping other medical writers through my mentoring and training programmes.
Like everybody else, I have invested time, money, and a lot of effort into developing a career I am proud of. But it wasn’t always like this.
There was a time that I didn’t believe I’d ever get a job as a medical writer. But, with a lot of resilience and research, I did succeed.
There was a time that I didn’t believe I’d ever advance past Associate Writer, let alone all the way up to Scientific Director. But, by working hard and learning as much as I could, I did reach that director level position.
There was a time that I didn’t believe I’d ever sit on an agency leadership team, hiring writers to my own growing team and shaping the way we worked. But again, I figured out what it would take for me to get those positions of responsibility, and I did all those things.
To be honest, I certainly never believed I’d have what it takes to run a successful business, where I’d be mentoring medical writers from all over the world. Or that I could offer them unparalleled insight into med comms, having worked with over 20 agencies. I never thought I’d be invited to speak at the European and Australasian Medical Writer’s Associations’ annual meetings, or at MedCommsNetworking events. And I never dreamed that I could help many, many medical writers move past their challenges to get the career they always dreamed of.
But guess what? I did. All of these things.
This isn’t about me bragging (if you know me, you know that’s not my style).
It’s about telling you that, whatever your career goals are, you can achieve them.
Don’t get put off by what seems impossible today. There is always a way to get new skills, to overcome that difficult working relationship, to get that job, or that promotion.
Working with me means you’ll have access to all my knowledge, writing processes, industry understanding, and network of contacts.
The world needs more medical writers. Whatever you want from your career, I will do my best to help you get it.
